Peugeot RCZ Gr.4
At the Peugeot booth of the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, there was a concept car displayed with flowing lines: the “308 RCZ”. This sports car was notable for its wide and low silhouette, with a cabin offset forward due to its midship layout. From the center of the roof to the rear glass, a double-bubble design was utilized, giving it a unique style.
This was a design study based on the 308, but it gathered a lot of attention, with many fans wanting to see the car actually produced. To answer their call, the car was finally released in 2010 with a style that was virtually unchanged from the prototype. It was named with no 308 designation but simply as the “RCZ”.
The engine is a 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder turbo, with two models producing 153 HP and 197 HP respectively. The 197 HP version is given an engine that becomes more lively as the engine RPM becomes higher, and a suspension system carried over from the original 308 series is made stiffer for sports driving. The combination gave the car a level of performance that provided a fulfilling sports driving experience.
Then in 2012, the RCZ underwent a minor change. This was mostly a stylistic change with the opening of the grille made smaller, adding a black light unit and LED position lights, and the overall facelift of the front end gave it a chic style and appearance.
The GT Line is a grade model added from 2015, with a special front grille, double exhaust pipes, 19-inch wheels and red stitched black leather interior for a sportier look.
